Alexander McQueen, RIP

The news that Alexander McQueen has killed himself is particularly devastating because it always felt to me like he’d be the last man standing. He was restless, but so pragmatic with it I assumed he had what it took to endure the extreme situations he placed himself in. He was also an arch romantic with a pessimistic streak. It produced some of the most beautiful, shocking images in the history of fashion, but it’s a state of mind that can lead to endless disappointments. The death of McQueen’s mother last week would have validated his pessimism. It would undoubtedly have taken away his most vital support. It’s awful to imagine him trying—and failing—to cope, and one can only hope that, if he was looking for peace, he found it. For everyone left behind, there will eventually be consolation, however scant right now, in a body of work whose power will never die.

“chooing” down the doors of H&M
H&M opened it’s doors Saturday to a line up around the corner downtown Vancouver. Why? Jimmy Choo created
as shoe/accessories and clothing line. Was it worth the madness of women plunging through shoe boxes. No! We felt the product was way overpriced. And a side note the majority of big spenders had the product posted on craigslist the following day. If you really love Jimmy Choo spend the extra $100-200 and pick up an original.

Wall street may be the talk of the town in 2009, but this fall is all about Main Street.
Every business person should be looking at their Fall Wardrobe collection, the same way they are looking at their Investment Portfolios – Invest in what will still be here next fall. Women Fall 2009
- Investment. You can build any wardrobe with trends but it has to be built around multi-functional classic pieces.
